To begin

In a spiral notebook, on January 21, 1970 I wrote: "I have often desired to begin a journal and now it is done." (As today, it was cold.) After commenting on the fact that my husband was at an out of state conference, our 4 children were asleep, and that the time was 10:30 p.m. , I ended with a quote which I believe I will repeat here as I begin a webjournal that 'I have often desired to begin': a prayer of thanksgiving - Hannah - I Samuel 2--"My heart exults in the Lord; my strength is exalted in the LORD. ...There is none holy like the LORD; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God. ...the feeble bind on strength....the pillars of the earth are the LORD's ...He will guard the feet of his faithful ones."

Though 39 years have passed since I began that journal, I have continued to record my days, ideas, the ideas of others, quotes as well as write poetry and random thoughts. Most of these have been discarded; however, as the years have flowed by, some have found a place to reside. Now in the last years of my 60's, perhaps I will give more credit to my thoughts. (Sorry, I chuckled.)
